About the Role
We are seeking skilled and highly motivated individuals to join our electrical engineering team to help support the development of autonomous vehicles. We’re looking for top talent that shares our passion and wants to be part of a fast-moving and highly execution-oriented team. As a Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer, you will work on existing and future programs simultaneously Some of the tasks you will be working on are scouting new technologies, providing Electrical Engineering expertise on new and existing AV platforms, troubleshooting problems in manufacturing, testing, or operations. You are excited to get hands-on and to apply your engineering knowledge while being extremely comfortable with hand-tools and rapid prototyping.
This role will be onsite 5 days a week in our Mountain View, CA office.
What You Will Do
- Own electrical systems and components of our vehicle autonomy system, including power, computing, sensor and digital subsystems
- Support the design of electrical, networking and power architecture for the components with functional safety including redundancies where needed
- Build and document procedures, improve the hardware platform and ensure system safety and performance
- Troubleshoot and debug electrical circuits and electromechanical systems
- Triage vehicle and component status and performance leveraging different signal architectures
- Identify new technologies and lead benchmarking to improve electrical system performance and optimize electrical architectures
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or a related, equivalent discipline (Masters preferred)
- 5+ years of experience working in a industry like automotive, transportation or robotics with exposure to high performance compute and sensor architectures
- General thermal and mechanical engineering knowledge with a good understanding of automotive EMI regulations & design requirements
- Experience in troubleshooting, designing and documenting electrical power circuits
- Experience interfacing with CAN based systems and logs using tools such as UML, EA, CANalyzer, CANape etc.
- Experience in CANbus design and analysis including reverse engineering the messages
- Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment (e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
- Experience with battery chargers/balancers and DC (LV) power electronics
- Experience with embedded system design and working with hardware/sensor integration, such as Lidar/radar/cameras and GPS
- Experience in designing, documenting, repairing automotive wiring and harnesses
- Experience with ISO26262 (preferred)
- Experience in Solidworks EE for schematics
- Experience in environmental testing
