Role Requirements:
In-person work at our headquarters: Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Kent Ave, West Lafayette, IN 47906
Access to consistent transportation to and from the office
Eligibility Requirements:

Must be authorized to work on ITAR restricted products
Responsibilities:
Design low voltage application circuits such as sensor interface circuits, vehicle communication (CAN, serial, I2C, USB, and MIPI (DSI and CSI)) interface circuits, microcontroller, and other low voltage circuits
Perform circuit simulations and worst-case analysis
Participate in design verification
Perform bench testing for circuit verification
Participate in root cause analysis for test failure reports and field returns
Preferred Qualifications:
Practical knowledge in the design of embedded system circuits, communication interface circuits, and other low voltage circuits
Experience with battery cell monitoring systems (BMS) is a big plus
Knowledge of low voltage DC to DC power conversion
Experience in embedded circuit hardware development; design, debugging, and validation
Knowledge of PCB layout
Knowledge of circuit simulation
General understanding of EMI/EMC design best practices
Understanding of development and validation requirements necessary for production
Expected Hours:
Full time - Exempt
40-45 hours per week
Who are we looking for?
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will design various custom PCBs for use within our product lines. This will include designing embedded system circuits, communication interface circuits, and other low voltage circuits, as well as testing and validating new designs before use within a system. Your work will impact the very core of our systems, enhancing their performance, overall reliability, and manufacturability.
About Us:
Uniform Sierra was founded in 2021 by two students at Purdue University to provide adaptable, affordable, U.S.-built drone hardware to business and government clients. Since its founding, Uniform Sierra has served both federal and state agencies through products like the Arrowhead - Tactical indoor sUAS and various training and contracting projects.
