Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Services Director (part-time leading to full-time) to lead our efforts in assisting clients with the integration of corn stover fiber into their products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the plastics industry, exceptional project management skills, and a proven track record of working with industrial materials. This role requires close collaboration with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful product development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement and Support:
- Serve as the primary technical contact for clients interested in using corn stover fiber in their products and/or combination of FiberX biocomposite polymers.
- Understand clients’ product requirements and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Conduct site visits to client facilities to assess needs and provide on-site support.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide expert advice internally and externally on the properties, benefits, and applications of corn stover fiber.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and reports to clients.
- Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and advancements in sustainable materials and corn stover fiber technology.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple client projects from concept to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Product Development:
- Enhance the development of FiberX biocomposite formulation product development.
- Collaborate with clients on product development and optimization using corn stover fiber.
- Conduct material testing and analysis to validate product performance and quality.
- Identify and implement improvements in processes and applications to enhance client outcomes.
- Training and Education:
- Educate clients’ sales and technical teams on the use and benefits of corn stover fiber.
- Develop and deliver educational materials, including manuals, guides, and training sessions.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical services, product development, or a related role in the industrial materials sector.
- Deep knowledge of sustainable materials as additives to biocomposite polymers, particularly agricultural by-products like corn stover fiber.
- Working knowledge of biocomposite polymers.
- Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and deliver results.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to support clients and attend industry events.
